Dylan is a great teacher. He is patient and engaging in class, and uses various games and teaching techniques to make each lesson feel unique and exciting. Japanese is a difficult language for native English speakers, but he makes learning feel fun, comfortable and easy(ish). He caters his curriculum to his students’ interests and is incredibly receptive to feedback. I would definitely recommend his classes to anyone looking to learn Japanese!
I’m extremely grateful to Dylan and appreciative of our lessons together! As a heritage Japanese speaker, it has been hard for me to reconnect with my roots without feeling ashamed of how much of the language I’ve forgotten since I was a child. Dylan has not only been an excellent tutor in terms of subject matter and lessons, but a supportive and encouraging presence through this journey. He has a collaborative approach to planning the lessons, meaning I get to give my input on what I’d like to study, and he also notes any mistakes I make with grammar and vocabulary and plans lessons around those as well. Over the past few months, I’ve gained so much confidence in my speaking abilities, along with meeting tangible goals I’ve set for myself in terms of vocabulary, grammar, and more.
Learning Japanese with Dylan has been so fun. I’m a busy working person with way too many hobbies but he always finds a way to help me learn despite all of that. The classes are never intimidating and he is almost too patient with me. I’m so happy that I signed up for the private lesson. It’s paced exactly how I need it to be paced.
